Jamie West burst onto the scene in 2009 winning of Young Busker of the Year. He released his first single ‘Give Me Everything You Got’ which received its national debut on BBC Radio 2 in 2010.
The Young Busker of the Year competition was judged by a panel of industry experts. He was presented the award by the Mayor for London, Boris Johnson, at one of the world’s premier music venues Indigo2 in the 02 arena.
This led to a string of media appearances, with features appearing in the Evening Standard, Metro, South London Press. He has been featured on BBC Radio 2, BBC London, Smooth Radio, and GMTV.
With music described as rootsy-pop, Jamie’s songs evoke the spirit of blues, jazz and folk traditions. His live shows have been described as ‘orphetic’ by Boris Johnson after Orpheus who had the power to move objects with his music.
His tunes were dubbed ‘ridiculously infectious’ by the South London Press.
Speaking of his future ambitions he says ‘I want to bring my music to as many people as possible. Things look very exciting right now, I’m moving in a fun direction’.
